[Verse] Well, I stepped outside this mornin’, Snowflakes dancin’ in the light, But that first kiss from Mr. Sunshine, Turned ’em into puddles overnight. [Pre-Chorus] Little town’s wearin’ slippers now, Mud boots traded for some shoes, The winter’s tryin’ to hang around, But spring’s got different news. [Chorus] Oh, that first snow’s melting on Main Street, Slippin' and slidin’ underfoot, Kids are laughin’, splashin’ puddles, Watchin’ winter pack its bags in a hurry suit. Yes, that first snow’s melting on Main Street, Sun’s got that playful cheeky grin, Who knew goodbye could be so sweet? As the snow melts down to the road again. [Verse] Old man Jenkins with his shovel, Tryin’ hard to beat the drip, But even he’s laughin’ under his breath, 'Cause spring’s just doin’ a little flip. [Pre-Chorus] The bakery smells like cinnamon, And the kids all crowd the park, Snowmen turn to puddle men, Even shadows lose their dark. [Bridge] Maybe winter’s just messin’ ’round, Playin’ hide and seek in the air, But me? I’ll take puddles over frostbite, A warm breeze over frozen stare. [Outro] So here’s to snowflakes that won’t stay, And muddy boots that lead the way, In this tiny town where spring will play, Till the cold comes back some other day.
