[Verse] The clippers hum, the chair turns slow A melody from long ago Your voice soft as the morning light Sings the song that feels just right [Pre-Chorus] Every note wraps 'round my soul Takes me back to where I’m whole [Chorus] That old radio plays my heart’s refrain Whispered dreams in a warm embrace again Hold me close in the sound we know The barber’s song from long ago Ooh, the barber’s song from long ago [Verse] The scent of powder, waves in air Tangles free without a care Your harmony, warm and sweet Brings me back to old front seats [Pre-Chorus] Every word like a gentle touch Says I’ve missed you just this much [Chorus] That old radio plays my heart’s refrain Whispered dreams in a warm embrace again Hold me close in the sound we know The barber’s song from long ago Ooh, the barber’s song from long ago [Bridge] Two voices weaving through the haze A childhood song in golden rays Let’s slow dance in this quiet room Beneath the spell of that old tune [Chorus] That old radio plays my heart’s refrain Whispered dreams in a warm embrace again Hold me close in the sound we know The barber’s song from long ago Ooh, the barber’s song from long ago [Outro] Softly fading as we go Still I feel that gentle glow The barber’s song from long ago The barber’s song from long ago
